Pop Pods represents the new water revolution. Powered by our scented pods, compatible with either our bottles or other Air bottles, allows you to enjoy the flavours of watermelon, blueberries, and more while drinking only water. By utilising the power of scent, the Pop Pods drinking system makes your brain think you are drinking flavoured water, transforming regular or sparkling water into a delightful sensation.
Contrary to popular belief, taste is not solely determined by our tongues and taste buds. In fact, approximately 80% of our flavour perception is derived from our sense of smell. With Pop Pods, you are drinking plain water while experiencing flavour through scent. Our olfactory receptors, OR's for short are responsible for our sense of smell, they play a crucial role in bringing flavour to plain water through a process called retronasal olfaction. Retronasal smell creates flavour from smell molecules in the pod pushing it up through the nasal passages as you drink.
Each sip of water from our bottles allows you to consume the scent contained within the pods. Although the water itself remains unflavoured, your nasal receptors interpret this scented air as the taste of water. The scents used in our pods are derived exclusively from natural ingredients such as fruits, spices, and herbs. These scents are applied to an air-permeable carrier material inside the pod. Each pod last up to 5 litres of water. Once finished you can pop them in your recycling bin.
